Red Star Surf’s Kitesurfing Course Goals:
Elevate Your Surfing with Yoga at Red Star Surf
Top professional surfers like Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmor, and Cory Lopez use yoga to enhance their performance, flexibility, and relaxation during competitions. Yoga and surfing are a perfect pair, both promoting flexibility, strength, and harmony with nature.
Our yoga classes cater to surfers of all levels, supporting your surfing journey to the fullest. Evening sessions focus on restorative asanas to help you recover from a day of surfing. With a blend of stretches and relaxation exercises, you’ll be ready for the next day’s session without feeling sore or tired.
Balance exercises improve your stability on and off the board, while breathing and relaxation techniques help calm your mind and body. Just as the ancient Yogasutra of Patanjali describes, yoga quiets the waves of thought in your spirit, allowing you to find peace amid the ocean’s waves.

Location
Situated in the tranquil fishing hamlet of Famara Beach on Lanzarote’s northern shoreline (Canary Islands, Spain), Red Star Surf School immerses you in a serene environment of ocean waves, mountainous terrain, and unspoiled landscapes. The entirety of Lanzarote’s northern region is a UNESCO-protected nature reserve. Due to the volcanic topography and strategic geographic position of Lanzarote and its neighboring islands, waves are generated from all angles, making it an ideal location for surfing and kiting in any weather condition. With an abundance of swells and surf spots accommodating diverse wind and swell patterns, the Canary Islands have rightfully earned the nickname “Europe’s Hawaii.” It is, without a doubt, a surfer’s utopia!
How to get there?
To arrive at Lanzarote, you can take a flight to Lanzarote Airport (ACE) from major European cities like Madrid, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Bologna, London, Barcelona, etc. A variety of airlines offer different flight options, and prices may vary depending on the season, ticket refund conditions, flight change possibilities, personal details, and your preference for the class of travel. The average round-trip ticket from central European cities to Lanzarote ranges from 50 to 150 EUR.
Red Star Surf does not provide airport pick-up, but you can reach Famara from the airport by bus, taxi, or rental car. Taking a bus to Caleta de Famara is an affordable option, but it may take a considerable amount of time due to low bus frequency. The bus fare is around 5 EUR, and tickets are sold on the bus. Make sure to mention the bus stop you are traveling to, as the ticket price depends on it. The maximum banknote accepted on the bus is 10 EUR, so carrying some coins would be helpful.
From Monday to Friday, take bus line #22 from the airport to Arrecife’s main bus station Intercambiador and then change to bus line #20 to Caleta de Famara. On weekends, take bus line #23 from the airport to Intercambiador and then switch to line #3 to Costa Teguise. Get off at Playa Bastian and then switch to bus line #31 to reach Caleta de Famara. It is advisable to check the official website of Lanzarote public transportation to plan your bus trip efficiently.
The most convenient option is to take a taxi from the airport to the surf school, which takes 25-30 minutes and costs approximately 35-40 EUR. Taxis are available at the airport 24/7. Alternatively, you can request a pickup for 100 EUR, where Red Star Surf will meet you at the airport.
