Depending on the weather, you can go hiking in the beautiful Werra Meissner natural reserve. In the town of Bad Sooden, you can enjoy a great Terme. When there is enough snow in winter, there is a ski trail on the top of the Meissner mountain, 10 minutes from here. In the summer, there are many bike paths around here, lakes, and canoeing.

Ytamar
Ytamar is a certified 200-hour and 300-hour YTTC practitioner from Spain and India, who embarked on his meditation journey at a young age driven by a spiritual perspective. Through the exploration of various spiritual traditions, he recognized the fundamental unity they shared at their core. As his interest in yoga grew, Ytamar gravitated towards traditional practices, focusing on “Antar Yoga,” which emphasizes inner spiritual development while acknowledging the importance of the external world. With a gentle and wise demeanor, Ytamar passionately shares his knowledge and experiences, humbly guiding others on their own transformative paths of self-discovery.
Location
Gaia Retreat House is nestled in the scenic region of Nord Hessen, just a 20-minute drive from the town of Kassel. Situated near the enchanting “Werra Meissner nature reserve,” the retreat center is surrounded by a pristine natural forest teeming with diverse landscapes such as forests, rivers, mountains, lakes, and charming villages. This picturesque location offers a wealth of outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, and canoeing, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings.
Within a short 30-minute drive, you’ll find the cities of Hessisch Lichtenau, known as the gateway to Frau-Holle-Land, Eshwege with its scenic Werratalsee, Witzenhausen, aptly referred to as “Kirschenland” (the land of cherries), and Kassel, famous for its Documenta art exhibition. Additionally, the historic city of Göttingen, renowned for its university, can be reached within an hour’s drive from Gaia Retreat.

Whether you’re attending one of the retreats or simply enjoying a stay at Gaia Retreat, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and cultural richness of this captivating region.
How to get there?
If you’re arriving by airplane, we recommend booking your flight to either Frankfurt Airport (FRA) or Hannover Airport (HAJ). Once you arrive at either of these airports or any major European city, you can take a train to the town of Kassel. From Kassel, you can continue your journey by public tram and bus to reach the village. Our friendly staff can arrange to pick you up from the village upon your arrival. Alternatively, if you prefer to drive, you can reach Gaia Retreat House by car. Detailed instructions will be provided by Gaia Retreat House after you make your booking.
For those arriving by train, you can take an ICE train towards Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe. Upon reaching Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, head outside the station to the platform and catch the STR4 tram towards Bürgerhaus, Hessisch Lichtenau. After approximately 1.08 hours, alight at Bürgerhaus station. From there, you can take BUS 200 towards Stadtbahnhof, Eschwege, and disembark at Küchen station. A short 10-minute walk or a call to Gaia Retreat House can assist you in reaching your destination.

Why Use Wellness Tour Center?
No, prior meditation experience is not required. The retreat is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience in meditation.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing suitable for yoga and meditation, walking shoes for forest walks, a refillable water bottle, and any personal items you may need during your stay. You may also consider bringing a journal or notebook for self-reflection.
Yes, all retreat sessions and classes are conducted in English to ensure clear communication and understanding.
Yes, we can accommodate various dietary needs such as gluten-free, lactose-free, and other food sensitivities. Please inform us of your specific dietary requirements when making your reservation.
To secure a reservation, a deposit of 14% of the total price is required. If a booking is canceled, the deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival. Please refer to our cancellation policy for more details.
Transportation from the airport or train station is not included in the retreat package. However, we can assist you in arranging transportation or provide detailed instructions on how to reach Gaia Retreat House by public transportation or car.
Yes, we offer optional activities such as early morning meditation/yoga practice, free time for leisure activities or nature walks, and extra excursions to nearby attractions. These activities can be discussed and arranged during your stay.
We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances or emergencies during your trip. It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate insurance coverage.
